In addition to practical ideas, the author also provides a strategy of how to learn a language. The truth of the matter is that most of the language programs you buy are not that great. The author has weeded out the ones that could be a waste of money and provided an excellent list of language schools, self-study course books, workbooks, and language reference books. proves to be somewhat useful, though the point is, you can find this information for free from this very site (amazon) by looking at product reviews. The truth is, we all learn differently, and it’s best to try and find a stimulating and immersive way to teach yourself another language. What this book does is help you weed out the bad programs and resources and point you in the direciton of the ones that people generally have success with - again no gauruntees.
I also do not understand the title of this book. How can you learn another language if your disposition is one of habitual negativity and lacking in discipline? Learning another language despite posessing a certain apttitute or lackthereof may be possible, but it most certainly requires the right disposition. File that under major misnomers.
4 Stars Helpful New Information about Learning Languages
This simply written little book gives lots of new information about the way humans learn languages. With clear instructions, helpful hints; web sites, references and great encouragement, it will open the path to multi-lingual skills for anyone who reads it. Americans are unfortunately way behind other World citizens in this area. I am encouraged and excited about what I have learned. It is a very useful tool! Thanks to author Doug Bower for a job well done.
